As the world continues to grow warmer, many are turning to the sweet, chilly relief of air conditioning in places where it was once a rarity. According to new data, San Franciscans have not seemed to embrace this trend.
The city has recently taken Seattle’s place as the least air-conditioned metro area in the country, according to the 2021 American Housing Survey released by the U.S. Census Bureau.
The survey states that about 45% of the 1.8 million housing units in the San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward metro area have a primary air conditioning source, compared to a national average of 92%. Only about…
